drag coefficient of Tango T600?[edit]

Range as Series Hyrbrid or Fuel Cell Vehicle?[edit]

The Tango looks good, but the range is a bit low, which might restrict its use to a city-only vehicle. Could future versions be plug-in series hybrids or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (likely by sacrificing the space for the second passenger) and if so what range would it have with such modifications? Offhand I'm guessing such a vehicle could have a range of an additional few to even several hundred kilometers. 1000 km on a single charge & full tank isn't out of the question.

Too low to the ground?[edit]

The Tango only rides 4 inches off the ground. Though it can be elevated with coil-over shocks, that's still pretty low. One bad pothole might total it. Are there plans to give it more clearance, perhaps with bigger tires? I don't want the Tango to be something it isn't, but I can see myself driving something like this in another dozen years and I'd want something that could go over rough patches without damage and travel round trips between cities without recharging halfway.

I think road worthiness is about 2 inches off the ground in most European and North American countries. Definitively isn't an off road vehicle. Luckily, most gas stations have an outlet which can charge the tango in like an hour, so it isn't like you'll have to go the whole way between cities without charging. Prices?[edit]

Does anyone know if the first versions of the T600 accually sold at 85K? According to Commuter Cars Homepage, the costs are 108,000 For the T600, 39,900 for the T200, and 18,700 for the T100. This would not include taxes and title. Anyone know if this is a price increase since the first cars were sold, or just the updated prices?

I also think it might be wise to have different sections for the different car models, it would be reasonable because they only have three models.

I was looking at news pages on the Tango. Apparently the kits were intended to be sold at 85K, and i know at least one was sold (The one for George). From their webpage, i would guess than the 108K version is NOT a kit... So perhaps it is version two? If so, this artical would do best to have a 'history' and 'current models' section. Can anyone confirm on them selling the kits?

Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down[edit]

Are you sure you want to compare this to a Weeble toy? That brings to mind a pretty uncomfortable ride situation. Leaning out of turns, oscillating back and forth afterwards. Maybe you could think of a better comparison, or just say that the low center of gravity allows for stable drving and skip the Weebles. Hermanoere (talk) 17:25, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Prototype versus production[edit]

There are reportedly 12 vehicles that have been produced and apparently delivered. At some point, this would be considered, at the very least, a limited production vehicle. Yes, that sounds correct, there are about a dozen prototypes, some were sold and likely nearly all are licensed and on the roads, I still see one which drives to car shows as recently as 2020. These would all be part of the original limited production run from the 2000s-ish, they included a T200(I believe) and T600 models, the T600 is the only one which is listed at this time, they may have stopped building the smaller single motor version. The smaller unit had a single rear motor and differential, I believe. The larger performance model had one motor dedicated to each rear wheel. I am not aware of any all wheel drive models. I should probably hunt for some good references (http://www.commutercars.com/) for all this, many old article links are now broken since 2003-2005ish when I followed this vehicles more closely. --D0li0 (talk) 05:36, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
