Please add more models[edit]

Hi, I've just created this article and as such would appreciate any input you may have. Please add any models you have specific knowledge on and correct any irregualarities I may have overlooked. Thanks. c-bro 19:29, 16 August 2006 (UTC)c-bro[reply]

It's not true[edit]

I have a 1200 XL500 Presario laptop with a 766 mhz Celeron.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Xrobevansx (talkcontribs) 01:45, 03 October 2006

The 1200XL is distinct from the 1200 range as it is has a 13.1" screen and many more modern specifications. Completely different series of laptops. c-bro 15:15, 3 October 2006 (UTC)c-bro[reply]

C-bro, I have a Compaq Presario 1200, model number 12XL325 that contains a Pentium III processor. It says "COMPAQ Presario" on the cover, and on the inside it is designated model 1200; therefore, it IS a Compaq Presario 1200. The same model number was used for far more than two AMD K6-2-based laptop models; the visual differences are minor, excluding the silver cover found on some newer models and incompatible board arrangements. The simple fact is that being a 1200 XL does not change the fact that the laptop on its face is, in fact, a Presario 1200. I will add this information to the article. I too[edit]

I too have a Compaq Presario 1200 (which apparently is also a 1200XL) it has a 733 Celeron with 176MB of RAM.

There appears to be a common fault with this model as the lid isn't strong enough to take the force of the hinge, and the lid plastic cracks with repeated use. I was thinking of adding this information to the article, but without any corroborating sources, it would be original research. I noticed that there is a section about CP 1200 faults though...
