Making progress[edit]

This page is moving forward-- good job all who have contributed recently. I made some changes and tried to point to areas that need to be developed more. Interpretive Historical Comparative Sociology[edit]

Though it's strange to find it there in the body of the article, I want to second the comment imbedded in the opening paragraph of this article:

"Historical comparative sociology differs from historical sociology by focusing only on three main issues. These issues are causal relationships, processes over time, and comparisons. It does not allow interpretive approaches (this is very contradictory to some of the following passages, please revise)"...

There are strong traditions of both interpretive and causal analysis in historical comparative sociology, as well as scholars integrating both. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 10:48, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Interdisciplinarity of Method[edit]

Comparative historical research is used not only in History and Sociology, as mentioned in the current draft of this article, but also in Politics, Religious Studies, Policy Studies, and many more fields. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 07:03, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Studies[edit]

I have some serious issues with the section on recent studies. The noted reference seems like a shameless self-promotion. Please check the works against Google Scholar, for instance.

Merge proposal[edit]

If merge happens I'd suggest mergine comparative historical research into comparative research rather than the other way around -- comparative historical research being the more specific of the two valereee (talk) 14:30, 23 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
