AO[edit]

Cette surcharge a été apposée en mai 1918 sur les timbres du Congo belge pour servir dans la partie de la Deutsch Ostafrika sous mandat belge.

The previous Congo issue (1916) had the bilingual overprint Est Africain Allemand Occupation belge (FR)

Duitsch Oost-Africa Belgische Bezetting (NL) which means "Belgian Occupation in the German East Africa".

"Allemand Occupation" (as suggested by Gibbons) is not French, and meaningless (it is a Belgian occupation). Afrique Orientale is equivalent to 'Est Africain' in French.

The British equivalent is German East Africa (G.E.A.).

Hey, bonjour, but this is English Wikipedia. It goes on WP:Verify and there is a definite source in Gibbons. If that's wrong, then fine. Go ahead. --Marco (talk) 21:16, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
