WORD APPLICATION SOFTWARES (Microsoft Word).

Definition: Microsoft word is a word processing software / package that records words, diagrams, and shapes which can be edited, corrected and automatically be printed out as a document on hard copy.

   It has in decades been understood to be the cheapest word processing package ( WPP) in the computer system. This is with reasons that it gives more access and control in the computer system.  Also, when compared to any disk operating system ( DOS) , it provides operator with less effort in carrying out the daily task /job.
TYPES OF PROCESSING PACKAGES:

1. Microsoft Word, 2. Word pad, 3. Microsoft front page, 4. Word perfect, etc.

 - The Microsoft Word (M.S Word)

Of the above mentioned word processing packages, our major concern in this study is the microsoft word. This package, considering its flexibility, cohesive and intelligent interface does more in easing job creation, editing and sharing of document than any of its competitors. The package is used in doing jobs like typing of letters, textbooks, tabulation assignments etc. It comes in what we call Microsoft Office Suit.

 VERSIONS OF MICROSOFT OFFICE SUIT:

1. Microsoft office 95 2. Microsoft Office 97 3. Microsoft Office 2000 4. Microsoft Office 2003 5. Microsoft Office 2005 6. Microsoft Office 2007 7. Microsoft Office 2010 to mention a few.

    Advantages/ Objectives of Microsoft Word:

1. It reduces management and administration efforts. 2. It makes unlimited number of original copies with less labour. 3. It makes easy the storage and retrieval of documents. 4. Editing document without wasting stationaries. 5. Providing and encouraging speed for most operators. 6.
