Plaza de Armas

[edit]

there's two plazas in downtown conce. Los tribunales and Plaza de Armas. Plaza de Armas is where they declared independence. Smeone should change this detail in the history section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rsnaith (talkcontribs) 06:01, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Map

[edit]

It would be nice to put in a map of the city's location in relation to Chilie in general, if someone has a public domain version 99.184.221.142 (talk) 12:07, 27 February 2010 (UTC)Martha Sue[reply]

The title of this article is quite inappropriate in "Concepción, Chile". This is an computerized encyclopedia in the ENGLISH language, and the ENGLISH alphabet does not contain the letter "ó". We get along just fine without it, and always write "Concepcion, Chile", and furthermore, that is the way that it is printed in newspapers and books in English-speaking countries. Also "Concepción" will not cause a match when doing a computer text search for "Concepcion". Also, the Internet URL for this article is a mess: —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.67.99.97 (talk) 18:05, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cultural Life

[edit]

I think the mention about rock bands in Concepción is too limited and incomplete to be here... I am both Chilean and a rock musician, so I’d like to see this expanded, but if nothing concrete and useful can be added, such as the names of the bands that originated there (none of which are mentioned) or more details about the local scene, it should be deleted. --Daniel Villalobos 16:05, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rock bands

[edit]

I agree that the mention of Concepción's rock bands is far too incomplete. However, the subject deserves to be enhanced and substantially enriched by people knowledgeable or involved in the field, rather than be deleted, altogether.

Founding date: March 3 or October 5 of 1550?

[edit]

Battle of Penco says that the city was founded March 3, 1550.

I added that date to Pedro de Valdivia before seeing that Concepción, Chile listed October 5, 1550. Neither had an immediately evident reference.

So please figure out which is correct, or disambiguate if both are relevant dates, and edit all three to add references. Sai ¿? 09:50, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
