I have added the section on Railfuture's campaign for a National Railcard

Gold Card[edit]

It's not at all clear from this section what the current status of the Gold Card is: if it has been withdrawn, then no date has been given, and if it is still in operation then this is not mentioned. Please fix this. 86.132.137.23 23:29, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The card is still available with the same range of discounts/concessions as it had originally; I have edited the text to make this clearer. Hassocks5489 07:45, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Privilege Tickets[edit]

The section 'Privilege Tickets' is completely unsourced and, I am told by a train driver, inaccurate. Unless someone can provide a source for this information, it should be removed. 84.71.28.57 (talk) 05:14, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have no knowledge about the second part of that paragraph (reciprocal arrangements with other European rail networks) and cannot provide any refs. For the first section (PRIV/CHPRV), this info is given in the National Fares Manuals: unfortunately the most recent I have available to me at the moment is the Winter 1996 edition, but as far as I know the discount percentages have not changed. The endorsements on tickets (PRIV and CHPRV) have certainly not changed. PRAAA has not been used for many years, though. Pending a better source, I will add the NFM for now. Is is possible to buy any of the railcards with a start date in the future?[edit]

I seem to recall that at least one of the railcards can be purchased with a future start date (thus not losing any validity if you need the card for specific future rail journey) but can't find any details anywhere if this can be done (would be worth adding to the comparison table). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.72.50.58 (talk) 16:51, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Quite a lot of the "local" railcards and other discounts are missing[edit]

A number of the rail company franchises offer their own concessionary railcards, e.g. greater Anglia Club 50 for over 50 year olds.

This article doesn't list these, and also I think a number of the other local railcards are missing.

Suggest an update: two sections: rail franchise operator concessionary schemes (with a table) and local railcards (with a table)
