needs sources[edit]

This article needs sources, and should be fleshed out a little more encyclopedically. But I do think the subject is worthy of its own article. wikipediatrix 01:59, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • In the eastern U.S. much of the important work in this field has been pioneered by the planner Randall Arendt and his various partners and clients. I've added some references & links in this area. Some references for western U.S. authors & projects would be welcome. I've also added a redirect for "Conservation design." To merge Conservation community into Conservation development, conserving the name. Klbrain (talk) 12:46, 7 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've been working on cleaning up Conservation community and just discovered this article. I think they should probably be combined, but I'm a new editor and at a loss for what to do here. Can I get some help? Rosenbergwrite (talk) 19:30, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

After discussing the process at Teahouse and conferring with some experts in this field, I am formally proposing a merger. I invite any and all contributing editors to submit their thoughts. I plan on executing the merger myself, if there are no substantive objections. Rosenbergwrite (talk) 17:40, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There are differences between conservation communities and conservation developments, usually in the amount of conservation and open space required. I would prefer the conservation community title to remain, and developments be seen as a series of variations. I was "livingforestcommunities" and people within my org. started the cc page. I do thank you for the insights and improvements to the page recently. I am teaching a course on cc, and would like to add work on alternate revenue sources; carbon offsets, residential density transfers, and eco-forestry principles. Also, key to cc is the intentionality of the group to conservation. @Jgedmonds, Moreau1, Collide, Stemonitis, Ps07swt, Kku, Darrelljon, Livingforestcommunities, Nurg, Anas1712, Sadads, Coyotespiral, Nick Moyes, and EdGI: Hello, I'm inviting you to comment on the proposed merger of Conservation community into Conservation development, since you are one of the major contributing editors to one or the other. Rosenbergwrite (talk) 17:50, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I support the merge into Conservation Development -- doesn't seem to have a ton of distinction as different concepts, Sadads (talk) 20:00, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support careful merge. The conservation community article appears to hold more references to the actual real estate development background whereas the target article appears to have focused a little more on the bright side aspects without giving away too much about the real estate interests. This has to be made more explicit. -- Kku (talk) 10:18, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
