24-hour rule needs to be explained[edit]

The key aspect of this initiative, the 24-hour rule, needs to be explained. I understand that the shipping manifest for any ship bound for a US port needs to be supplied to US Customs at least 24 hours before being loaded onto a ship in a foreign port. I understand this initiative has caused challenges for some exporters in foreign countries because of their practice of just in time shipping, as their containers might not even be packed, let alone delivered to a port, 24 hours before being loaded on-board a ship. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 08:02, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
