Method of contraction[edit]

There is also something in mathematics called the method of contraction. Seeking information on this myself, I can't give any other information. 131.155.59.211 (talk) 11:34, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is it something used to find fixed points of a function? If so it is perhaps synonymous with fixed point iteration, see also contraction mapping and Banach fixed point theorem. Hope this helps. Encyclops (talk) 23:31, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
