Visibility[edit]
Is a corona usually visible to the naked eye? The article mentions the variable angular size, but not it's scale. And since halos can also be small, can you tell them apart without extra optics?

Yes, they are visible to the naked eye; See the gallery here: http://www.atoptics.co.uk/droplets/corim1.htm. The differences with halos are manifold, and easy to spot to the trained eye. For one, a corona is smaller and less sharply defined than a typical halo such as the 22° halo. Also, coronas have much more pronounced colors. Drabkikker (talk) 18:51, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
