Council of governmentsCouncil of government – Per WP:SINGULAR, WP:CONSISTENT, and basic WP:Common sense. Councils of governments would be okay if we're certain this is "innately plural", but the present title is sorely confused and basically logically impossible (for this topic). I don't care much which is chosen. "Council of government" (the concept) would be more consistent with more articles on such terms, but "councils of governments" (the entities) would be more precise in a sense (the sense that all these governments in the US are separate entities). The fact that the singular form is a red-link right now is kind of mindboggling. PS: There's a quasi-related CfM going on here.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  13:16, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose the article lists several that have "Council of Governments" in the name, so this seems to be the term. The term does make sense, it is a council composed of multiple governments. buidhe 21:05, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per Buidhe. Multiple (local) governments join together to form one council. The redlink should remain red as there is no such thing (at least in the sense of this topic). Station1 (talk) 08:59, 6 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
