Contested deletion[edit]

For AFD? Maybe. But not speedy. This is a real game/thing. Doesn't fall under any of the CSD criteria. Sergecross73 msg me 17:22, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Restoring Speedy. "ref" is a blog that starts with "I’m one of the co-founders of Dynamighty, a small independent studio situated in lovely San Francisco, CA." so not reliable and external link is also purely promotional. Just because something is real doesn't mean it merits a Wikipedia article.Harry the Dog WOOF 18:21, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The "blog" is run by Sony, a giant corporation. The link links back to the game's company, extremely common practice on video game articles. Speedy Deletions are for very blatant things like hoaxes, or copy/paste advertisements. This is not one of those things. I'm very aware that existence doesn't equal notability, I'm just saying that existence in this case is making it fail the speedy delete criteria you're proposing. I recognize that this may have a good chance for being deleted, and that's fine. But its not so blatant as to be speedy deleted. This is much more appropriate for WP:AFD. Please stop relisting for speedy. Sergecross73 msg me 20:13, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I'm not even sure I'd support AFD at this point. The game has quite a few sources out there. I'm in the process of adding them... Sergecross73 msg me 20:25, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with third-party sources added it is better, but I still think that an article that has only "sources" generated by the game's creator (which was the case with the blog where the post had been written by the game's developer) and the developer's own website website should be speedied as promotional unless other sources are found. Since you have done that I am happy for the article to remain especially if it can be further improved. Harry the Dog WOOF 20:35, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, I can understand your original stance, as I too don't usually support articles that only contain one ref/one sentence either, but I've heard of the game before, and know that most games made for major platforms for major corporations like Sony don't warrant a speedy deletion, so I had to say something.
