Untitled[edit]

According to a notice in Wicklow Gaol the County was formed by Chichester in 1606. Signage on the County Boundary in July 2006 says 1606-2006 - 400 years. 82.18.174.37 17:19, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone speak Italian?[edit]

How it is, I do not know, but the Italian version of this page is actually longer than this version. Can anyone translate? Thanks... --Schcamboaon scéal? 09:25, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

hey - Si! Most of it is geography; bit of history and a "culture" section which is more history. The Economy, Transport and Infrastructure section doesn't add much really. I find the geology section hard to fathom - so I left it out. Much of the Geography section is full of pov about how beautiful the county is - I've removed it - though there isn't a word of a lie in any of it :) Ciao

The new lead[edit]

The statement in the new lead which was inserted into the county articles is completely misleading; Wicklow is one of the 32 traditional counties - yes. But the traditional county is not co-locational with modern Wicklow County Council. Sarah777 (talk) 12:20, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong source for population[edit]

The population is given for the 2016 census but the source is for 2011.--Wanfried-Dublin (talk) 16:48, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well spotted. This is the edit from July 2016 that put in new numbers without adding a source. Anyway the 2016 figures are still provisional, but for now I have updated the citation to support the places 2016 statements or figures are made. Keep an eye out for the final results. ww2censor (talk) 17:52, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Next steps[edit]

This article needs to move in a level - more thorough history, including the pre-shiring, Arklow, etc., plus a proper treatment of geology, more on key people, and more on industry / business. Any takers? I can try to address some points in December.SeoR (talk) 10:31, 27 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Arklow North Beach[edit]

In the section about the coast it mentions the Arklow South and North beaches. I think it would be suitable to say that the Arklow North beach was sadly eroded and does no longer exist. The ocean now goes up to the rock armour that is in place (which was put in place to help with the erosion). 51.37.77.186 (talk) 22:54, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I do think that part needs updating. I’d not say that North Beach is altogether gone but it’s certainly much reduced, you could say that what’s left is something like “Porter’s Rock

Beach”. A current summary of the last 10? years of right of way obstruction / enforcement would also be useful. SeoR (talk) 10:06, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
