NPOV...really?[edit]

This article should objectively lay out a series of facts on the issue, but it reads like a position statement pulled from the Boy Scouts of America website. It needs to be made more NPOV. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.91.89.240 (talk) 01:32, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what you mean -- what would you like to see there thats not? I'm not sure there should be any POV in an article about a court case. :: Edit I saw your edit to the page and agree with it -- I guess I should take a closer look at the POV... 01:54, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
The page does indeed fail to maintain a neutral point of view; it's heavily skewed toward the Boy Scouts. For example, it consistently says that the Boy Scouts banned gays as leaders, when in fact the ban applies to scouts as well. The court's order that the City pay the plaintiffs' legal fees is described as being "from their unlawful actions".
The Background section begins, "The City of Philadelphia said that it cannot allow organizations that receive city benefits to discriminate". In fact, the City is prohibited by law from subsidizing organizations that discriminate.
Also, the article says that the building was built "on city land at the city's request". Was it really not a mutual agreement, but the City begging the Boy Scouts to accept some free land? That should, at the least, have a citation.
Pending the outcome of this discussion, I plan to apply the POV tag to the article. TypoBoy (talk) 16:37, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
