Use of a flag and/or which one...[edit]

An issue has come up recently concerning which flag, if any, should appear in the infobox here. Both the current New Orleans flag and Louisiana Creole flag have been used at different times. Although, in terms of using a flag, I would support using the Louisiana Creole flag, as a representation of the ethnic community rather than just one of several cities in which Creoles historically lived, I'm starting to think that a flag is inappropriate here generally. Most other ethnic identities and communities avoid using a single flag in the infobox precisely because multiple places—whether nations, cities, states, etc.—have housed important communities of that ethnicity. Serbs is one of many examples. I'm very much open to a discussion here, though. Anwegmann (talk) 02:21, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
