Scope[edit]

I'm concerned that this article is titled "Scottish Criminal Record Office", yet seems to be mostly about the negative press that SCRO has received in recent years.

As one of the major sources of background checks in Scotland and the United Kingdom, SCRO do a great deal of work in ensuring that those who would be a risk to children and vulnerable adults do not get into jobs they should not. Surely this article should contain content on the role and history of SCRO in addition to the Shirley McKie referencing? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Arcengal (talkcontribs) 22:44, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 15:08, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment comment[edit]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Criminal Justice Information Services/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

I have serious concerns regarding the neutrality of this entry.

Those seeking to learn of the origins and functions of the Scottish Criminal Records Office will find this page of little use, as this appears to simply be another soapbox regarding the long running saga of Shirley McKie

This case does not define the Scottish Criminal Records Office, and often overshadows every other facet of the organisation.
