The article's coverage of local politics is too one sided. This article gives the false impression that there is wide agreement on the community center question and also overlooks grave issues facing the town, such as rampant loitering around the railroad tracks and public parks.

What "coverage of local politics?" All I see is a list of elected officials. Is that really enough to merit a "NPOV dispute label?" By the way, I am removing a couple of unrelated, unverifiable items.--Do Not Talk About Feitclub (contributions) 06:23, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

im a resident of this town, and i dont see anything that seems one seems one sided... in any fashion. it all seems like factss to me, altough i diddnt read it over too carefully... i might have missed somthing

I'm taking the NPOV template down, since nobody seems willing to stand up for it. --djrobgordon 21:48, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How can no one see the NPOV issue here? It is clear that the Community Center segment was added by Community Center advocates to give the false impression that there is a broad consesus that supports the idea of a Community Center. The POV tag is going back where it belongs: on this biased page. -Thad

Taking down some of the stuff like the "club exxon" bit, I live here and have never heard this phrase in my entire life.

Please stop removing the North County News entry. This paper covers Croton and its affiliated blog provide non anonymous commentary.

Please stop identifying certain Croton officials as "Republicans". Mayor Schmidt is a registered Democrat who ran on the Alliance Party line in 2007. Trustee Konig and Trustee Brennan, registered Republicans, ran on the Alliance Party line. There was no Republican line in 2007.

I just wanted to note that I switched Schmidt's party affiliation from "D" to "R", based on what I took to be the known political affiliations of the current trustee members. While you're right that in 2007 no trustee members ran on a Republican line, both Brennan and Schmidt (who ran on the Alliance line) ran on the Republican line in the 2005 Village Elections. I don't have any knowledge of Schmidt's current political registration. Anyway, I'm not insisting that party affiliations be listed on the wiki, but it's not clear to my why this is undesirable simply because the Republican caucus results were thrown out for failing to comply with County election regulations. Also, please sign your comments on the talk page. Anthony Mohen (talk) 00:15, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Famous natives[edit]

Greg Evans was recently added to the list of Famous Natives by another editor. I corrected the footnote reference, but without additional sources I question the notability of the individual. --JBC3 (talk) 04:07, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Communists[edit]

Is it really noteworthy that "Croton was a popular location for the summer homes of wealthy American communists"? And if it's noteworthy, does it really belong in the lead? --Gotophilk (talk) 20:35, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gotophilk, I would say it is noteworthy as it gives context to the history of the town and its residents! Ava Powchik (talk) 21:16, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
