"Dirge pop"[edit]

Are you people as drunk as Manson's former self? Fake genres aren't supposed to be on Wikipedia, and you've fought this long over it? Made-up genres don't belong. "Dirge pop" is a one-time use neologism that was used because the reviewer couldn't figure out what to call it (and neither can we). If we're allowed to do this, then I don't see why "easycore" can't be added to the band pages of C!NCC!, Four Year Strong, and ADTR (sources do exist calling them that). This should be removed and there should be no genre field at all until something definite is found. And I promise, I have no connection to those moronic IPs. dannymusiceditor what'd I do now? 04:04, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

We've not fought over dirge-pop. We've been battling the MansonWiki-ites (mansonwiki has been down for a month or two now, so those IPs have been flocking over from MansonWiki to this here Wiki, trying to bring our articles up to "MansonWiki standards"). The genre field was left blank in the infobox for a considerable amount of time, but "Dirge-pop" was simply added - because even though you don't consider it a genre, it was from a reliable source and referred to the track as being in that genre - to keep the IPs at bay. Now that the page has been protected for two weeks, hopefully the IPs will take the hint. I have no objection to you removing the genre, if you find it disagreeable.
