Incorrect link[edit]

I noticed that the link for John de Lancie links to his son's page (the actor) and not to John de Lancie(oboist). I don't know how to change it so I thought I would post a message here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.249.157.162 (talk) 21:16, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Curtis.gif[edit]

Image:Curtis.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:22, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Low importance?[edit]

Seems strange to me that America's best music school is of "Low" importance for Wikipedia. Slystoneisback (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:41, 24 May 2009 (UTC).[reply]

You are quite right, and I have changed the importance to high, but the class=start due to a lack of inline citations and few independent references in general.

"the most selective institution"[edit]

The ref. says it is "the most selective institution" in America, not in the world. Please stop changing it, unless a reference saying that it is the most selective institution in the world is provided. Thank you --Karljoos (talk) 23:32, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Newsworthy history of abuse at Curtis should be included in article[edit]

Looking over the View History for unrelated reasons, I see that information about ADMITTED, newsworthy and important past history of sexual abuse at Curtis was repeatedly added to the article and repeatedly deleted. I had never heard about this history. I am now utterly perplexed why it is being deleted. One contributor in recent History wrote that it should be discussed in the Talk page and a consensus should be reached. I did not think that including important and NON-CONTROVERSIAL information about topics usually requires "consensus". Editors are supposed to "be bold" -- and accurate and fair -- not wait for everybody to agree. (The past abuse was reported by the school itself and was admitted and apologized for by the school administration.) I ask that contributors and interested others please provide here soon any reasons why such information should not be included. Otherwise surely a responsible neutral editor (such as myself) will soon add it back into the article -- unless some reasonable explanation is provided why it should not be included! I am very perplexed.David Couch (talk) 09:11, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please propose verified NPOV encyclopedic text on the matter. SPECIFICO talk 09:34, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notable alumni and faculty sections[edit]

I think these should be discussed. Someone tagged the sections as being too image heavy, someone else blanked it all out, I notice in the history that one alumni was dropped from the list apparently because there wasn't a free use image of them. I also notice that there is a fairly well developed draft article that is a more comprehensive list of alumni. I don't have an opinion on what is best, but it does seem clear that something about the famous musicians associated with this institution belongs in the article.
