Hello, Hurricanehink. I will be reviewing this article tonight to see whether or not it is worthy to be considered a Good Article. I have found a few issues, but that shouldn't hinder this article from being upgraded to GA, provided that the following are fixed and/or addressed in a timely manner.--12george1 (talk) 02:04, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Cyclonic Storm Komen was an unusual tropical cyclone that originated near the southern coast of Bangladesh" - I feel like this may be a stupid question, but why exactly was it unusual? Weird track, formed unusually close to land?
  • The track so close to land, one of only four cyclonic storms in the month of July, having its origins over Bangladesh and then hitting the same country. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:47, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The system turned westward over land" - Saying "northwestward" would be much more accurate.
  • Not really. It moved northward into Bangladesh, then it headed westward once inland. The JTWC track doesn't show it all. [1]Hurricanehink (talk) 15:47, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm assuming no further preparations for Bangladesh and none for Myanmar, right?
  • I wouldn't say none for Myanmar. I just couldn't find any good preparations. Because it was such a weak storm, I don't imagine there were storm-specific preparations in Myanmar, particularly as the area affected is populated by the persecuted Rohingya people. At most, there might have been flood warnings, but I can't find. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:47, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Rain-induced landslides killed five people in Cox's Bazar, and two others died in the town due to flooding." - No info on how the other 14 people died?
  • Usually once the death toll reaches ~15, the media stops reporting on individual causes and locations, and just includes the summary. There might be a government report somewhere, but I haven't found it. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:47, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Offshore, the storm capsized a boat, while onshore, flooding resulted in landslides." - Is there any reason why this is here? You've already mentioned a capsized boat and landslides. Otherwise, unless there was another incident with a boat capsizing, I'd cut that off, move the second part to between the second and third sentence of that paragraph, and then do a little bit of re-wording.
  • Oops, that was from an early version of the article. I moved stuff around. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:47, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reference #14 is missing an accessdate.

That's all I could find. So fix or address these in a timely manner and I will be glad to list this as a Good Article.--12george1 (talk) 02:04, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, hope these are good now. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:47, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm gonna pass this article now.--12george1 (talk) 17:51, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
