New article[edit]

I've wanted to create this article for some time, so tonight I sat down with a glass of Svatovavřinecké and finally wrote it. I haven't contributed to any other wine-related articles before, so comments are invited and readily appreciated! Aquilina 22:28, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Made some minor corrections. I may expand the article further in the future, but as I'm Slovak, I should probably start an article about Slovak wine first... Galiyosha 22:42, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Good to read, both, the Czech and Slovak are missing in the German wiki. I look forwward to your further additions.--Symposiarch 17:38, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Moravian wine[edit]

Everyone I know here in Moravia would be astonished to hear that their wine is referred to as Czech wine, because the wine is from Moravia, not from Czech (Bohemia). It is like called Australian wine "British" - a forced political affiliation that somehow, in the author's mind, defeats geography, history and common sense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.146.176.26 (talk) 11:39, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You are right, the vast majority of wines made in the Czech Republic comes from Moravia and Moravia (not Bohemia → Czech) is the region associated with the wine making and culture [1], [2], [3]. However, I think that the best option is to start separate articles both for Czech wine and Moravian wine. It's a shame that Moravian wine serves as a redirect to the article Czech wine. --Vejvančický (talk / contribs) 15:56, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
