This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (your reason here) --Vladislav Chernekov (talk) 02:31, 5 February 2016 (UTC)David Smash is the only known performer forging a successful career as an innovative blues rock / Americana who was born and raised in Lithuania. To my knowledge David has been in United States only since 2012. David has appeared on national television in Lithuania such as "Lithuania's Got Talent 2009", "Ring of Young Talents 2010", "Lithuania's Pick for Eurovision 2011", was also featured in a book about Lithuanian rock music - "Lietuvos Roko Istorija" writen by a national award winning Lithuanian author Mindaugas Paleckis. David Smash has headlined major music festivals in Lithuania and Poland - "Visagino Country 2010", "Bliuzo Naktys 2010", "Wegorzewo 2011", "Most Rockowy 2010". David Smash Band recently competed at the International Blues Challenge 2016 and made it as far as to semifinals, an accomplishment not achieved before by any Lithuanian born person.[reply]

I believe he is an important musical talent and should be on wiki. HOwever, there is data that is confusing. If he moved to the US in 2012, why all the detail about playing in Lithuania, learning guitar in 2013 and then forming a band.
Is this simply a typo and learning guitar began in 2003? Seems to make more sense. 68.131.20.70 (talk) 14:32, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (your reason here) --Peter Molenberg (talk) 04:08, 5 February 2016 (UTC) it is extremely important and vital for the future of American music culture. David Smash represents the new generation of European music invasion and how it's reshaping current sounds. The person and stories mentioned in this article are unique and true.[reply]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (your reason here) --Henrie "Hank" Batie (talk) 05:28, 5 February 2016 (UTC)His band won second place at Suncoast Blues Society's Competition 2015, they came in first at the Central Florida Blues Challenge and they made to semi-finals at the IBC (international blues challenge) in Memphis Tennessee 2016. And he didn't even speak a lick of english until he was 14 or so. This kid is already a living legend in lIthuania and now he's making a name for him self in here US. He is the type of immigrant America needs![reply]

Not delete, tidyup[edit]

So, he/the band has a recording deal, and there are two released CDs by him/the band.

Unfortunately, all under different names, which seems to be confusing.

A decision needs to be made, what do we call him?

(and consequently what do we call the page)

Is it:

  • Døvydas - his current stage name as a soloist
  • David Smash - his aka in the band (the article even says "previously known as"!!!)
  • Maščinskas - his surname

For me, it would be:

1. "Døvydas" - the most common name HE is known by

2. David Smash - this is, I believe, solely for the David Smash band and is no longer used.

3. Maščinskas - seems like a no go, as he is not using this name and so would not be the most common name he is known by If David Smash is to stand, then this page should be more about the band.

If the band is still current, then a case ma be made that they released the CDs, not Dovydas.

Whatever the outcome, when he is talked about, just the one title should be used.

In one paragraph, there were two sentences and all THREE of his names were used!

So, if the outcome is Døvydas, the page needs to be moved. Chaosdruid (talk) 21:41, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Now a week since my post, Google search results:
Dovydas (1,100,000) - though with results other than him, needs checking
Døvydas (74,500)
David Smash (69,400)
Døvydas Maščinskas (5)
Starting a page move discussion Chaosdruid (talk) 11:31, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion has fallen quiet, so I am assuming this is an uncontested move and have moved it to Døvydas Chaosdruid (talk) 12:50, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Street performances[edit]

I know him from FB, he invites people to sing. Shouldn't it be mentioned? Xx236 (talk) 12:47, 22 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
