I have flagged this for cleanup for the following reasons (some of which I have addressed):

Several misspellings
unclear and counterintuitive sections
The complete discography appears to have redundant listings (e.g., Menace II Society soundtrack)
Speculation should be flagged as such (e.g., "CK", which is well known as meaning "crip-killer", but how do we know that Quik excluded it to "show respect for the other side"? Perhaps a source?)
Language needs to be cleaned up. (e.g., "Tracks appear on")

Sweet Black Pussy[edit]

Anyone seen video for this song? It's rated XXX and is not available in youtube. Does it consider any porno material or inappropiate content? --Flesh-n-Bone 19:58, 29 December 2007 (UTC). The video was not done when the album was released, but was done around the time that 2Pac did the "How Do You Want It" video, and is X-rated. You'll never see it on Youtube, but it is on a Deathrow Greatest Hits album/DVD.[reply]

The web favors "Martin" by about 2-to-1, but it's hard to judge reliability. The artist's Facebook page only says David Blake. His website is under construction and doesn't say much of anything. His MySpace bio says "Martin". Along with the web preference, that's enough to justify the change, and I will do that using the MySpace bio as a ref. ‑‑Mandruss (talk) 19:26, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

On second thought. I went to make the change and saw this citation for "Marvin". It purports to be a 2011 interview with the artist, in which he says, "...it would be fortunate had Wikipedia really compiled my information and my career correctly. These muthafuckas start my whole little biography by [not printing my correct middle name, Marvin]. They call me 'David Martin Blake.'" Given that, I think we have to leave "Marvin" unless and until his website includes a bio that says "Martin". ‑‑Mandruss (talk) 19:35, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject assessments[edit]

I have added and assessed the WikiProject Crime banner and assessed for the WikiProject Organized crime banner primarily on the basis of the Gangsta rappers and Bloods categories this article has been assigned to. Apart from this artist's style of music-making and the associated category assignments, there is almost nothing in the article content to indicate why this article should be of interest to these WikiProjects. Aside from his art, there is no indication this person has been directly involved in any sort of crime or criminal organization. If you are aware of additional sources of information not included in the article that further support these WikiProject assignments, please identify those source(s) and add that additional information to the article.
