Complaint[edit]

Don't know how the update to the definition of DMSMS was created but it's much better. The original post sounded like it was a good thing. That would be like saying "high blood pressure" is a good thing. It's the effective management of high blood pressure that is good just like management of DMSMS is good. That's from experience. Anyone in involved in production or support of equipment can tell you that. Qhrider 16:51, 17 April 2007 (UTC)qhrider[reply]

Cleanup tag[edit]

I have begun some of the cleanup as per the tag, however I am not quite sure what to do with the last portion of the article. It sounds more like a memo than an encyclopedia entry. I moved the cleanup tag down to this portion of the text. I think the rest of that section either needs to be rewritten or outright deleted. AndrewBuck 17:10, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clean Up Section[edit]

I'd gladly work on cleaning up the last section of this topic but I'm not a frequent user of Wikipedia. I think it's good because it looks like what someone was trying to do was explain the process of proactive DMSMS management. Noting the topic as it was back in January, the writer mistakenly considered DMSMS as a process that was "proactive". This is a buzz word that gets so misused. As I noted in my post, it was more correct to identify DMSMS as a problem that required managing. You will either be "reactive" to the problem and scramble around to find parts or replace parts or you will be "proactive" and plan to deal with the eventual obsolescence of a part through monitoring it's lifecycle and supporting technology, considering stockage of the part prior to it's obsolescence or plan to replace the part through an engineering change in system architecture or part application.
