Edits of 8 December 2015[edit]

First of all, User:Alexandru M., do have the courtesy not to accuse someone who's edited this project for nearly a decade, and who authored this particular article in 2009, maintaining it since then, of "pure vandalism". No, I don't claim the ability to do whatever I want with this article, but I do expect a modicum of courtesy.

Second, blindly reverting is never a good idea: many of my edits were of a cosmetic, non-controversial character.

Third, let's address the main substantive removals I made:

  • 1) The ICA affair. As of now, Cioloș' only involvement has been one day of court testimony. If ever he is indicted, much less convicted, we absolutely ought to revisit this. But being a witness in a court case, and apparently a rather minor one at that, simply does not seem to me that relevant, particularly in a rather brief BLP.
  • 2) The alleged kinship with Ardelean. Again, sorry, but if he were an actual relative, if his ascent in politics were genuinely attributable to this relationship, that would be worth mentioning. But rumors that have been proven false - and, I might add, not especially juicy rumors at that - belong in a scandal rag, not a BLP.

Are we clear now? - Biruitorul Talk 00:49, 9 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Biruitorul, I don't want to argue with you. I respect you as a more experienced user than me, do what you want, I don't care anymore... — Alexandru M. (talk · contribs)

  • Well, I don't want to discourage you or look like I'm being a bully - I'm always open to hearing the other side. Still, I've been writing biographies here for a long time, and I do have some sense of what does and does not belong. - Biruitorul Talk 01:03, 9 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • I understand that. I'm not accusing you of anything, I'm not feeling discouraged by your edits, on the contrary. Sorry Biruitorul for irritating you, if I did so. – Alexandru M. (talk · contribs)

Why does the title of "agronomist" come before "Prime Minister" in the article? Him being an agronomist should be left out completely from the first paragraph, in my opinion, or at lest placed after the title of "Prime Minister". For many reasons, including the fact that it's a less important description of who he is now, but especially because it is confusing. If you Google his name, the first thing that appears on the right side of the page, where is short biography is, is that he is an agronomist. Furthermore, the first few lines of the Wikipedia link read "Dacian Julien Cioloș (Romanian pronunciation: [dat͡ʃiˈan ˈt͡ʃjoloʃ]; born 27 July 1969) is a Romanian agronomist who is currently serving as Prime..", which might affect the number of clicks the article receives and makes everything, as previously said, a little confusing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.82.240.17 (talk) 09:04, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • A fair question, but if you look around at biographies for the current European leaders, you find similar wording. Examples:
    • "António Luís Santos da Costa, GCIH (born 17 July 1961) is a Portuguese lawyer and the Prime Minister of Portugal"
    • "Miroslav Cerar Jr. (Slovene pronunciation: [ˈmíːrɔslaw ˈt͡sɛ̀ːrar ˈjúːnjɔr], known as Miro Cerar [ˈmíːrɔ ˈt͡sɛ̀ːrar]; born 25 August 1963) is a Slovenian lawyer and politician who has been the 10th Prime Minister of Slovenia since 18 September 2014"
    • "Xavier Bettel (born 3 March 1973) is a Luxembourgish politician and lawyer, serving as Prime Minister of Luxembourg since 4 December 2013"
    • "Tihomir 'Tim' Orešković (Croatian pronunciation: [ˌtîhomiːr tîm ǒ'reːʃkoʋit͡ɕ]; born 1 January 1966) is a Croatian-Canadian businessman who is the Prime Minister of Croatia since 22 January 2016"
  • If people can't be bothered to click on the article, that's not our problem - our goal is to create professional content, not clickbait. - Biruitorul Talk 13:26, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
