Encyclopedic[edit]

Keep this article encyclopedic, dont be writing things like how there's a pub nearby and how to get to it, or how the town centre is a 'leisurely walk' away etc, this article is about the railway station, don't add too much POV.TR (talk) 05:45, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can see what you mean. But I do not think it's POV to say there IS a pub (and shops nearby): it is helpful and encyclopedic to know (for example) that a station is in the middle of nowhere. "Leisurely" is a measure rather than an opinion. If you run, for example, time taken changes. But as I say I can (just) understand what you say - perhaps the language seems a little too friendly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.97.222.118 (talk) 09:08, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Blackpool service[edit]

The train service to Blackpool was not just a service during the 2000s. I travelled on it many times during the early 1980s. I suspect that since Blackpool has always been a common holiday and day-trip destination, especially during 'wakes weeks', it was also likely a sporadically offered service in the past.Marcvanderloo (talk) 15:00, 17 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
