Game name[edit]

Isn't the name for this "DanceDanceRevolution: Best Tracks - Volume 1"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.158.5.62 (talk) 18:09, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's actually DanceDanceRevolution. 99.170.255.24 (talk) 23:54, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't it going to be 4 different games with 4 titles? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.188.40.36 (talk) 22:19, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No.  æron phone home  13:25, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

European Release Date[edit]

At time of writing, the European release date is set at Nov. 3, however I've not been able to find any retailer shipping the game. Nor could I find any (official or unofficial) announcement about the game being released, or a new release date. I'm hesitant to remove the listed date, anyone know for sure whether the game has shipped, or when it will ship? Or perhaps the name has changed in Europe once again? (edit: I only searched for the wii title) 129.125.6.1 (talk) 08:06, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Wii title is the only one IGN lists as being in line for a European release last I checked. The date was ambiguously this year.  æronphonehome  14:44, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
IGN seems to have pulled their entry for the unnamed PS3/360 game and Hottest Party 3 lists North American only. It would seem they don't think it'll come out over there. I'll change the page.  æronphonehome  15:06, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: apparently no consensus for a change of title at the present time Kotniski (talk) 14:41, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dance Dance Revolution (2010 video game)Dance Dance Revolution (PlayStation 3 video game) — In accordance to Dance Dance Revolution (Wii video game). Konami has pulled all reference of the game being a multi-platform release, with the game's official page on Konami's site stating PS3 as the only platform. At Konami's latest community event DDR was demoed only for the PS3 and Wii while the 360 used Kinect for a game called Dance Masters instead. This is further proof that the game has indeed turned into a PS3 exclusive. The latest press release and trailers also only state a PS3 release which makes it safe to say that the game is indeed a PS3 exclusive and is no longer a multi-platform game. Either that or it can be assumed that this game has been cancelled while DDR PS3 is an entirely new game instead, evidence to support this secondary claim is that for the latest demo, the song tracklist is displayed using a wheel like original titles rather than a cover flow form showed in the E3 2009 demo. Either way the page should be shifted to Dance Dance Revolution (PlayStation 3 video game) as either way DDR PS3 is the only upcoming DDR console game being released by Konami. \KiasuKiasiMan 14:22, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In addition to references citing the Xbox 360 as a release platform, no reliable statement that the release has been cancelled and that the latest timeframe for release has not even lapsed, Konami officials reaffirmed on their Facebook accounts that the 360 release is still in the works. Just because Konami chose not to display the game at only the most recent event surrounding DDR doesn't mean that it no longer exists. Last reliable information put the PS3 and the 360 games as being virtually identical which is why they are both mentioned in the same article. The upcoming Wii release has always been marketed as a different game, containing different features, different input methods, etc. Sharing a handful of songs between games doesn't make it the same game. See the last round of DDR games released in America for a good example. If anything changes in the future, oh the wonders of Wikipedia, we can make adjustments based on reliable sources then.  æronphonehome  15:16, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Release date[edit]

IGN, Gamespot, and the official Konami website (click on pre-order) indicate that the game is set for release on the 16th of November, and that it will be released on both Playstation 3 and Wii consoles. SweetNightmares (talk) 16:15, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

I believe that Dance Dance Revolution (Wii video game) should be merged here. If necessary, we may create a section within the article that describes nuances between the PS3 and Wii versions. Anyone agree/disagree? SweetNightmares (talk) 16:50, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you follow the coverage of the games, they are almost in no way related.  æronphonehome  22:04, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Konami groups them together, they are being released on the same day, and the only two songs listed on the Wii game's page also appear on this one. That, in addition to the PS3 version's utilization of the Move, would indicate that they are basically the same game, with the same tunes. However, if something in news articles or press releases specified further distinctions between the game, I apologize-I don't follow video game news. 174.95.248.139 (talk) 01:36, 30 October 2010 (UTC) (Oops, that was me.) SweetNightmares (talk) 01:37, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The biggest difference would be the input methods. Wii gets Motion Plus, Wii Fit board, PS3 gets Move. There will be musical differences, there will also be gameplay and mode differences. It was thought at first that the games would (finally) be similar across the platforms. The more information that gets revealed the less alike they are.  æronphonehome  06:37, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Got some links? I'd like to read up about it... I'm excited for this game. SweetNightmares (talk) 19:06, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge them. One can discuss differences between the games on the page. Do we have different pages for different input methods elsewhere if the game is alike (xbox controllers vs. ps3 controllers)? Does it matter if the songs are different? Consider a hypothetical situation in which 2 games that are exactly the same receive different DLC songs on different platforms. Does this make the games sufficiently different now that they need separate wikipedia pages? No, so create lists of songs in each game if necessary, but the game itself is the same style. The goal of each game is to pass the songs and the style in which you try to do this is the same in each game, as well as the title being the same. I don't think different songs and different 'input methods' make the games sufficiently different to warrant 2 pages for the same game. Jabberwockgee (talk) 23:07, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can we get a list of....[edit]

....songs available on their PSN store for this game? Anyone? DJAikou (talk) 06:19, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The list of songs in the Wii version seems like a good starting place. The PS3 list + songs I've unlocked + more unknown/unlocked songs = the list reported for Wii. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.123.6.221 (talk) 16:04, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
