Suggestions/Ideas For Improvement[edit]

Songlist standardization (general suggestion)[edit]

This comment is not specific to this article, but rather is generally for all DDR articles. I believe that much work is still required in the area of standardizing the songlists some of which are broken down according to foot rating, some of which are broken down according to originality of content, and some of which are simply lumped into one table, etc. I think the best way to deal with this might be to make a new article in the form of a table coverning all songlists with sections for song title, artist, game (with year), foot ratings, and a notes section to explain if it is unlockable. Additionally, sections could possibly be created for country and platform as well. -Thibbs (talk) 07:10, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The soundtrack tables on Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party are my latest effort, do you like those? I don't think they need to be any more specific about things. Personally, if someone wants the foot ratings for a song they should follow the reference links tied to each track listing. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 11:50, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes these seem to be very good. I remember you had suggested making collapsible songlists in order to eliminate clutter and these seem to have done the trick nicely. I'll pick up this format for table-making in the future. I note that you these tables do not have categories for foot-rating, and some of the other categories I had mentioned, but certainly within the context of an article on the game, there seems little need for information like this. It would probably be best reserved for an article on all of the songs collectively.
I just noticed your current project page which looks like a step in a very positive direction. For what it's worth, the project has my endorsement. I'm relatively busy with non-wiki stuff currently, but I'll see what I can do to help out with this in the future. -Thibbs (talk) 15:46, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Explanations for Edits[edit]

My First DDR songlist[edit]

I have found new information from this source which shows the songlist for the Japanese version. I will add in the Japanese songs and spell out which songs are NA version songs and which are Japan only. I can no longer find the source I had used for the NA version's songlist, but from a little research it looks like the people listed under "Artist" are in fact the writers and not the performers of the songs. Since all of the other song lists on wikipedia use the artist and do not credit the writer I will make the appropriate changes in favor of standardization. Unfortunately since I am working from a Japanese song list I do not have the performers' names for the NA exclusive tracks. I suspect that the song "Shout" is done by Lulu as in DDR Super Nova, but as of right now I have no proof. I will try to look for this missing information in the next few days. Finally, I am not completely convinced that the idea of merging the American and Japanese playlist into one is ideal, so if anyone has a better idea feel free to edit WP:BOLDly. -Thibbs (talk) 07:10, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lulu would be the original artist so it would depend on whether or not the version on My First Dance Dance Revolution was a cover or not. As for the song artists, the DDR articles follow the convention of listing the artist credited on the song either in the banner or the song wheel. The deepest it would go is linking the pseudo-name to an actual artists page were there will likely be more information on the song's creation. And I wouldn't merge two separate soundtracks together into one, if there are any differences between the two I would make two lists and then explain the differences (As I did in Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party).
This particular article is pretty low on the list for me though, so if you want to start making changes to it please do. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 11:50, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

General Comments[edit]

The Merge[edit]

Let me just say kudos, AeronPrometheus. I think this merger was an excellent idea and I commend your work on the DDR pages in general. Your edits have done much to help order this snarl of articles. -Thibbs (talk) 07:10, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well thank you, these articles have a long way to go though. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 11:50, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
