Danilo Pereira (footballer)Danilo PereiraWP:PRIMARYTOPIC. There is no one else with the exact common name Danilo Pereira anyways, so Danilo Pereira (footballer) can be moved to Danilo Pereira, and Danilo Pereira can be changed to Danilo Pereira (disambiguation). Paul Vaurie (talk) 21:45, 8 January 2022 (UTC)— Relisting. Coffee // have a ☕️ // beans // 11:10, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nom. Pretty clear cut. Mannysoloway (talk) 22:32, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Note: This discussion has been included in WikiProject Football's list of association football-related page moves. GiantSnowman 16:44, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - there is also a footballer called Danilo Pereira da Silva. As such move Danilo Pereira (footballer) to Danilo Pereira (footballer, born 1991) and redirect 'footballer' to dab page. GiantSnowman 16:47, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • @GiantSnowman: The player called Danilo Pereira da Silva you're referring to is actually called José Marcio Danilo Pereira da Silva, and his common name is Danilo. I don't see why that poses an issue for moving Danilo Pereira (footballer) to Danilo Pereira. Plus, WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Paul Vaurie (talk) 05:17, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
      • Actually, never mind about the Danilo Pereira da Silva thing, a weird redirect confused me. There is a footballer called Danilo Pereira da Silva (born 1999), but their common name is Danilo, so my point on PRIMARYTOPIC still stands. Paul Vaurie (talk) 05:21, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
        • There are multiple people listed at the Danilo Pereira dab page. Saying this person is the only one is factually incorrect; saying he is the PRIMARYTOPIC is a wiser argument, although I don't think he is. GiantSnowman 15:44, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
          • Even if there was evidence that the other subjects are with any regularity referred to as Danilo Pereira in reliable sources (which I would welcome, but am struggling to find!), there still appears to be a primary topic. Is there any reason, besides other pages existing, that we would not make the subject that meets our primary topic guidelines the primary topic?--Yaksar (let's chat) 17:43, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom.--Ortizesp (talk) 23:39, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per GiantSnowman. Danilo Pereira (footballer) is not the default primary topic of the Danilo Pereira disambiguation page.
I would, however, support moving the dab page's main title header Danilo PereiraDanilo (footballer), with Danilo Pereira and Danilo Pereira (footballer) both redirecting to the Danilo (footballer) dab page. The dab page would list 1) Danilo (footballer, born 1985), 2) Danilo (footballer, born 1986), 3) Danilo (footballer, born 1988) {currently listed as Danilo Rios}, 4) Danilo (footballer, born 1989), 5) Danilo (footballer, born April 1991), 6) Danilo (footballer, born July 1991), 7) Danilo (footballer, born September 1991) {currently listed as Danilo Pereira (footballer)}, 8) Danilo (footballer, born 1996) and 9) Danilo (footballer, born 1999).
If consensus were to prefer that the dab page should continue listing number 3) as Danilo Rios and number 6) as Danilo Pereira (footballer), then those two "Danilo" footballers could still remain on this nine-footballer dab page in their unchanged forms or Danilo Pereira (footballer) could be listed by the enhanced form — Danilo Pereira (footballer, born 1991) — per GiantSnowman.
Still another option would be for both Danilo Pereira and Danilo Pereira (footballer) to redirect to the Danilo disambiguation page which would need to append a separate section header "Footballers" under which all nine men would be listed. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 00:55, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Roman Spinner: Ok, it's not the natural primary topic, but Danilo Pereira (footballer) is the primary topic for Danilo Pereira. Paul Vaurie (talk) 01:41, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
When someone says Danilo Pereira, they are referring to this player and not any of the other ones. Paul Vaurie (talk) 01:41, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move to Danilo Pereira (footballer, born 1991). Not the only footballer who has this name, whether the others use their full names or not. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:52, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Is there any evidence that any of the other players are ever referred to as "Danilo Pereira" in reliable sources? While it's certainly reasonable to have them in the DAB page, if this is the only topic that is called "Danilo Pereira" then it is a clear primary topic and the intended target of readers. We should not be adding a bureaucratic process that intentionally directs readers away from the page we know they intend to find. If there is evidence, that if course changes things.-Yaksar (let's chat) 18:36, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Generally we do fully disambiguate if there are other people with the same name, even if the name they commonly use is different. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:44, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sure, as long as there is evidence the name in question is at least sometimes a common one for them. The existence of alternate pages alone is obviously not a reason for no primary topic, otherwise we wouldn't need the concept at all! If they are pretty much never referred to by the name in question, and usage of the name is overwhelmingly clearly meant for one subject, then there is an overwhelmingly clear primary topic. To do otherwise is to intentionally inhibit reader navigation despite clear information of what they are looking for. This appears to be the case here, but I'm still looking around.--Yaksar (let's chat) 14:15, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't think anyone is questioning that, or if it makes sense to include them on the dab page. I'd still like to see if there are sources that regularly call them Danilo Pereira. Even if there are, however, the existence of other topics alone is not a reason for no primary topic if we have evidence that one topic is the overwhelmingly clear intended target of readers.--Yaksar (let's chat) 17:32, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong support There appears to be a clear primary topic. The subject in question dominates in usage. Oppose !votes have failed to demonstrate evidence that a) the other subjects in question are commonly called "Danilo Pereira," or B) even if they are, that the subject in question still is not the primary. The existence of other topics alone is not a reason not to have a primary topic -- otherwise we wouldn't need the concept of a primary topic at all. We seem to have a clear case where readers searching for Danilo Pereira intend to end up at this page, and we should not put up procedural hurdles to that without an actual case behind it.--Yaksar (let's chat) 17:37, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - per Yaksar above, and the nom statement, this article is a clear primary topic for the "Danilo Pereira" name. The only main argument used by the "oppose" !votes is that the footballer Danilo (footballer, born 1999) has the full name "Danilo Pereira da Silva". But since there is zero evidence presented that he is ever known by the name "Danilo Pereira", those "opposes" should be rejected as meritless. • Support and delete the disambiguation. From what I see, he's the only one who's commonly referred to as "Danilo Pereira", so he's a clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. I don't precisely see the point of the disambiguation either, as all other subjects are just partial matches. They have "Danilo" and "Pereira" in their full names, but that's not a valid basis for having a disambiguation, which should be deleted per WP:PARTIAL.
