No it isnt. Ive hardly ever seen the phrase 'darkcore' used. At best its a series of dutch gabber/hardcore compilations but that covers a whole host of sub-genres and sounds. A name of a compilation doesnt define the tracks used on it 80.177.65.182 15:56, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
The term Darkcore is frequently used in the Hardcore Techno scene. It should definately be mentioned in this article, or in an article of it's own.
The term is greatly used in the hardcore/gabber community to describe stuff similar to terrorcore, but with BPM around 160 (listen to Enzyme records). I actually never heard the term used for drumnbass (if i dont count wikipedia and ishkur.com), always only in the gabber sense.
Yeah, there are two subgenres with this name, the older one is for dnb and the newer one, for hc. It should be noted in the article's title, that it's about the dnb one, and hc producers should be removed from the notable artists, and a new page should be created for them. --84.0.174.251 00:10, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
Hardcore complications
I've removed the use of "hardcore" to disambiguate the newer genre; as I understand it, early-nineties darkcore arose in the early days of jungle, when there wasn't a clear distinction between UK hardcore and jungle; certainly, I've always associated darkcore with UK hardcore, so I was confused by the attempt to distinguish this genre from the newer one by saying that the newer one was "hardcore"; they're both types of hardcore.VoluntarySlave (talk) 08:45, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Surely you mean Darkside?
The reference album is called Darkside, and three tracks on the album refer in their title to Darkside. I have numerous tapes (which I can dig out for reference) from 1993 where the MC's refer to the music as being Darkside. Just about everyone I know (from UK, from 1992 onwards) refers to this style of music as Darkside and I've never ever heard it referred to as Darkcore. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.101.55.203 (talk) 22:01, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
