• Both images are good (PD-old)
  • Not required for GA, but alternative text is recommended.

      • FWIW, you don't need the "A black and white photograph" part. You're describing the image itself, not the fact that it is an image. Resolute 23:27, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

Early life

• While I am well aware of how hard it is to find such info on athletes this far into the past, is there more than can be said about Bancroft's early life?
  • I added the name of his mother. His father has the same name as Frank Bancroft, but they are different people. Aside from that, I'm not seeing any more than this out there. – Muboshgu (talk) 01:36, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
• What, exactly, is a "truck farmer"? Is that what you meant to say there?
  • I dunno, it comes from the SABR bio. I found a Des Moines register source that simply lists him as a news vendor, so I dropped the truck farmer bit. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:48, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

Philadelphia

• Not going to recommend a change here, but I've never found inflation calculators in sports articles all that useful, as the inflation in a player's value does not match real world inflation.
  • Part of the reason I personally like using the inflation template for salaries of the olden days is precisely because it shows how salaries for professional athletes have grown at a rate far beyond inflation. • "Bancroft's offense contributed to the Phillies' victory in Game 1" - Did his offense contribute in any notable way, eg game winning home run? Given several batters must contribute offensively in a win, what made Bancroft's contribution stand out? (though perhaps his contribution - overall excellence relative to his teammates - is stated in the following statement)

Overall

• About what I'd expect for a 1920s athlete, based on my own experience. Would be nice to see the personal stuff flushed out a bit more, if at all possible, but overall, I've only got a few prose concerns.
