We should expand this article and try and find out what Former Congressman McCurdy is up to recently; he has been out of American politics for a while now. ProfessorPaul 02:06, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Davd mccurdy.gif[edit]

Image:Davd mccurdy.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Money from "Timmy"[edit]

Shouldn't there be mention of the fact that he has received donations from "timmy's" father? that kenny kid who abused the hell out of his cat Dusty? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.98.211.8 (talk) 23:22, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disclosure of potential conflict prior to update[edit]

This article is a bit out of date, less complete than it could be, and has some modest formatting issues. I've done plenty of research and will be implementing this update shortly. It's worth noting that my employer works with the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, of which McCurdy is currently president. I have approached this project while keeping COI in mind, and believe all of my changes are neutral, sourced, verifiable and encyclopedic. If anyone has questions about my work on this article, please feel free to contact me at my discussion page. NMS Bill (talk) 17:14, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For the moment, this article contains a section describing McCurdy's activities in the 1992 presidential election, with a contentiously worded description of McCurdy's interest in joining the 1992 scrum from apparent onetime detractor George Stephanopoulos, and a blockquote describing Clinton White House deliberations about McCurdy being up for secretary at Defense and director of the CIA from McCurdy admirer Steve Clemons. (See both here[1].) What I am going to do is retain the Stephanopoulos source while revising it simply to say that he considered a run but ended up supporting Clinton; the facts are clear but Stephanopoulos' feelings about the matter I believe are immaterial and may pose WP:BLP problems. The Clemons source comes from HuffPo, which may or may not satisfy WP:RS and besides the lengthy quotation is a poor way to include this. I have instead found similar details from a contemporaneous AP story and later David Halberstam book covering these basic details, and rewritten it. Please see my disclosure above; if anyone has questions or concerns about this edit, I am more than happy to discuss the best way to write this.
