CSI:Miami crticism not objective[edit]

The CSI:Miami segment contains comments that are subjective. I would consider directly quoting (and linking to) critics from other sources rather than including them in such a way as to appear to be original wiki content. The statements are: "In this role Caruso has consistently earned the distinction of being perhaps one of the worst actors on prime time television. His dramatic posturing, glib comments and lack of character depth have gathered a following of fans who find this drama "one of the best comedies on T.V. South Park reference should be removed[edit]

There's no reason to mention South Park. Unless Caruso voiced a character on the cartoon, the cartoon is entirely irrelevant to *this* article. It's ok to mention Caruso in the article about the cartoon episode, but not ok to mention the cartoon in this article. There are literally hundreds or thousands of references to Caruso on TV, and it would absurd to mention every trivial little one of them. Fans of the cartoon, should stick to the cartoon article, and not insert nonsense into every article South Park happens to allude to. Are we also going to update George W. Bush with the nonsense from this cartoon? After all, I'm sure they've made references to him as well. But, guesse what, nobody cares. There are references less or better remembered; six years later I still remember this scene I saw maybe one time. This is not really about the cartoon anyway. And I remember some hilarious jokes of George W. Bush, but shant be putting them in that article. All famous people have huge numbers of people, making assorted jokes about them. These analogies are interesting but erroneous. In politics, appreciation of someone's decisions and of their effect can vary according to the political views of the observer. Here, nobody questions that Caruso acted foolishly. And nobody tries to pour a full ton of jokes either; we talk about a single sentence. Stop trying to whitewash Caruso's past. Per WP:NPOV, facts are not points of view; the "factuality" of the sentence is unquestioned. I removed the South Park trivia. I've not seen the episode mentioned, but knowing what I do about South Park, I don't think any satire on the show is as specific as the section suggests.

I know this issue appears to be settled. I agree that every joke about an actor should no be included. I do feel the south park event should be included. 2 reasons, it is a simple commentary on his life and reflected the opinion of most people at the time. Second it was the first eposiode of what became a very popular TV show. I myself distinctly remember that line, and to many people who did not see him on NYPD Blue this is all they knew of him at the time. Its true every joke about George Bush should not be included in his article, but if there was a politician who was unknown and many people learned of him for the first time on a tv show it would be worth mentioning..
Finally there is a part where it talks about a TV guide article that very few if anyone ever read or care about. Additionally the article mentions a joke on Dave Letterman, that again, very few people ever saw or would care about.

Actually, rude original poster; TV Guide, I believe, made the 'humble and understated' comment, after an interview.

Did you know the man turns down all work outside of Miami, because he wants to focuss on his career? He's been given this second chance, and he's running with it, and his success has been proven, along with CSI Miami's success rate. People like to poke fun at him, and talk down about his acting and his life, but could you do it? On a set, you can be up until three and four in the morning to get a scene cut, and then be expected to show up first thing the next morning. You don't always get much sleep, and it's constant memorization. They don't just sit there and improv. They have a show to put out there, and they only have so much time in which to do it in, in order for the episdodes to play consitently to please the public. A two hour movie can take a year or more to film. Television, you have up to ten days to get a 47 and a half minute show done. Just like a movie, you have to have a beginning, middle, and end. Sure, you can have recurring themes (CSI- the Miniature Killer) but you still have to have a close to each episode unless you wish to make it last twice it's normal time slot by cutting it in the climax (CSI- 'Living Doll', 'Dead Doll') only to pick it up in the very next episode. You have to remember every little character tick and details. Could you do it? Think twice before you answer. I'd bet you couldn't. Disagree? Prove me wrong. Bobble Head?[edit]

The Bobble Head section of this article has been removed and reverted a few times. It seems like the section is overly large, but that just may mean that his Career section should be fleshed out more. Some citations in the Bobble Head section wouldn't hurt either. I agree, it is pretty clear that the consensus is that this is self-promotion that doesn't belong on this article. If the person adding this material keeps going against consensus by edit warring I'll be forced to stop him myself. The section was entirely unsourced and contained negative content and original research. I've removed it per WP:BLP and WP:RS. At this point, does consensus even matter? As long as the main IP address involved in this edit war has access to the site, he'll continue to vandalize the main article, and all we can do is revert his edits. Parents[edit]

I am a cousin of his. Both parents are deceased. His mother Joan was born on January 5, 1915 and died on December 3, 2003. She was of Irish ethnicity. His father Charles was born on December 19, 1926 and died on August 2, 2006. He was of Irish and Italian ethnicity.

His maternal grandparents were named Helen and Peter Burke. Helen died in 1928 and Peter died in 1960. His paternal grandparents were named Louis and Susan Caruso. Retirement[edit]

Can anyone verify that he is retired? Because someone keeps putting his "years active" from 1975-2012. I have seen some actors/actress pages that they haven't been in a movie or TV show in a while and their years active has for example 1966-present. 80 movies a week, really?[edit]

The source for that claim is not available online, but this strains credulity just due to basic math. A movie theater is not open 24 hours a day even if Caruso didn't need sleep and were somehow working massive overtime. Maybe he said 80 per month? I worked as an usher years ago and that's closer to possible although it's still a lot (and most theaters are not playing that many movies, although I guess he could be including watching the same ones over and over).
