Fair use rationale for Image:DavidGeddes.jpg[edit]

Image:DavidGeddes.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Requested move 31 May 2021[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

– According to pageviews [1] the primary topic here is the musician, so move David Geddes (musician) to the base name over the current two-entry disambiguation page, and delete G14 David Geddes (disambiguation). Put hatnotes there to David Geddes (cinematographer) and David Geddis. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 08:50, 31 May 2021 (UTC) Relisting. Elli (talk | contribs) 14:16, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Note: David Geddes titles a page with content and so it must also be dispositioned. If this request is granted, then David Geddes may be moved to David Geddes (disambiguation) and tagged with {{One other topic}} in accordance with WP:ONEOTHER, or it may be deleted to make way for the first proposed page move. No, my proposal is to move "over" the disambiguation page, i.e. delete the disambiguation page before the move. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 18:38, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Ping @NiTenIchiRyu: who moved the article away from primary back in 2016. 162 etc. (talk) 15:41, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Thx for the Ping. From my understanding a topic is a „primarily“ one if the page views show a 10:1 or higher ratio. Here it is roughly a 3:1 ratio, cp. [2], so there is no clear preference. In my opinion we should stick with the disambiguation page. Best, --NiTen (talk) 17:19, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • @NiTenIchiRyu: No that is not the criterion, which is WP:PRIMARYTOPIC: "A topic is primary for a term with respect to usage if it is highly likely—much more likely than any other single topic, and more likely than all the other topics combined—to be the topic sought when a reader searches for that term." The guideline says nothing about 10:1. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 18:38, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, I'm not convinced there is a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC by long-term significance.--Ortizesp (talk) 19:57, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. Please also note that there is a Badminton player named David Geddes (Q27270800), who also may be notable. --NiTen (talk) 21:54, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support With just two subjects, and the article in question receiving what looks like 70-80 percent of average traffic, there appears to be a primary topic.--Yaksar (let's chat) 21:25, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
