Attendance records[edit]

I changed the records so that they reflect the ones in the Postgame Notes released by the university following the Arkansas game on 1-NOV-2014. There is a discrepancy between those and the number listed on the official stats (62,307 vs 63,207). POSTGAME NOTES

Dog Pound Rock[edit]

Quickie history of the DPR for future editors of the Davis-Wade page here. The DPR was originally done on the field by the kickoff team. Usually, the captain of the KO team would stand in front of the rest of the team, and would "direct" the DPR, while the other 10 members would mirror his actions.

Once the SEC ruled that the (on field) DPR was "taunting" the other teams, the team was forced to do the DPR from the sidelines. At the pep rally the week before the next game, the football team taught the assembled student body how to do the DPR. The first game after this ruling is where the first appearance of Chuck Smooth's version of Who Let the Dogs Out occurred. This particular game, the Famous Maroon Band (FMB) was on the field, and WLTDO was played over the PA system, and the FMB did the DPR on the field, while most of the student body performed it in the stands. After this, the DPR was performed by the entire football team, on the sidelines, to WLTDO. During the Peach Bowl that year, the DPR was changed by having the non-kickoff team members falling down on the sidelines at the end of the DPR. Watching Joe Lee Dunn do the DPR in bare feet was, to say the least, interesting...

NOTE: non-conference games were the exception - the DPR was still done on the field, mostly.
