Removal of referenced material[edit]

user:Kashifpisces has repeatedly reverted any changes to the article to an unreferenced version. this makes no sense as this is not an improvement to the article and flies in the face of a core policy of verifiability. -- Whpq (talk) 14:47, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you're talking about the violence and torture sentence, I have been unable to verify it. Even if that's what the source said, I'm still unhappy with including it. A 35 year old accusation, if true, should have some later verification from other sources, and I can't find any. Rees11 (talk) 00:27, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine. If things are not sourceable, then we can remove it. However, the article was being completely replaced with no effort on the part of the editor to engage in a discussion. -- Whpq (talk) 01:12, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ironically, if that editor had simply discussed the issue instead of edit warring I probably would have supported him. Not the first time a WP editor has shot himself in the foot. Rees11 (talk) 04:03, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the violence and torture material. As I said, I couldn't verify it, and I couldn't find any other sources. Rees11 (talk) 15:15, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Improvement in Dawood Group Article[edit]

Dear Administrator

I am posting Dawood Group Article for your review if this is ok to you then let me know so that i could able to upload it. You have asked me about my association with Dawood Group. I am attached with dawood group more than 7 years. Reasons behind my interest on wikipedia is all about to present the truth. in these 7 years i found Dawood Group the best example of Employee relations with workers. A 35 years old accusition is labeled on Dawood Group without any proof based on single article in 1970 when socialism is on extreme in Pakistan. if that was true then dawood group should face court for criminal activities. My dear try to understand my point. you will find plenty of good material about Dawood Group regarding its contribution to nation. One more thing at that time Group is going to be nationalized and its major companies like Dawood Petroleum and Central Life Insurance are being nationalized. But i don't know why you people think that this accustion should continue after 35 years. The Group is splitted among three of them. Razzak Dawood, Hussain Dawood and one other family member.

Hussain Dawood is now the Chairman of The Dawood Group. A well reputable and well known personality for his philanthropic activities and successful businessman in Pakistan. He is Chairman of

Dawood Group Engro Chemical Inbox Technologies Dawood Hercules Chemicals Limited Dawood Foundation Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund Karachi Education Initiative

He also serves as the member on the Boards of

Commonwealth Business Council Pakistan Business Council Pakistan centre of philanthropy Institute of Strategic Studies Beaconhouse National University Global Charter Member of The Indus Enterpreneurs

Honorary Consul of Italy in Lahore

you can visit www.ppaf.org.pk and see what Mr. Dawood is doing for the poor nation.

I think now you will able to understand my point of view. Also can i now upload the Dawood Group Page on wikipedia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kashifpisces (talkcontribs) 05:07, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am not an administrator, nor are most editors here on Wikipedia. Before any sort of further activity takes place, can you unambiguously declare your affiliation with the Dawood Group? Wikipedia:Conflict of interest would seem to be a guideline that needs to be followed in this case. -- Whpq (talk) 14:20, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Ahmad Dawood[edit]

The spirit behind the Group's phenomenal success, was born at Bantva in the Kathiwar region of pre-independence India. Mr. Dawood, at the age of only 18 started his business career in Bombay as a dealer of cotton and rayon yarnand soon entered in industry by establishing a cotton ginning and pressing factory, an oil mill and a vegetable oil factory. Under his supervision and wise guidance his business activities expanded rapidly with new branches opening in several parts of India such as Calcutta, Madras, Kanpur, Coimbatur, Mathura, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Dehli.

Migration of Pakistan[edit]

Ahmed Dawood was a pillar of private sector, he was asked by [Quaied-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah]http://www.dawn.com/2002/01/03/top8.htm to migrate to Pakistan and set up Industries there.

Ahmed Dawood had lost all his business assets worth millions of rupees, spread all over India at the time of creation of Pakistan in 1947. In their new homeland, the Dawoods soon secured country-wide reputation for zestful initiative and foresight in planning and implementing new industrial projects in the country under the flag of The Dawood Group. The Group has set up a diverse complex of industries in Pakistan keeping in close harmony with the requirements of national progress and business prosperity skillfully using Indigenous capital as well as foreign investment to satisfying gains of the participants and to the development of Pakistan as a modern industrializing Country.
