Division III[edit]

Other articles indicate that Dayton played in Division III at some point in time (perhaps Football only?). When was this? -Drdisque (talk) 23:13, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Football only, from 1973 (the creation of the three-division setup) through 1992 (at which point the NCAA ruled that being D-III in football and D-I in everything else was no longer acceptable). Sources would be the annual NCAA Football Records Book for 1973-1993 inclusive, but my copies are in storage so I can't provide proper biblio. JFMorse (talk) 14:13, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm Confused[edit]

I can understand, perhaps, the rationale for including the ESPN all-time rankings for Xavier, Miami, and Cincinnati, since they're local competition. But why on earth are Notre Dame and Marquette included? JFMorse (talk) 14:15, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
