Aspect Ratio[edit]

In the side box, it says 720p as the aspect ratio. 720p is a resolution, not an aspect ratio. 24.228.17.179 (talk) 02:49, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Negativity[edit]

Ever heard of the phrase, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"? Deleting the gameplay section until someone who doesn't want to whine about the difficulty can make an actual gameplay write-up simply talking about the actual new gameplay features, or the increased speed of the game in comparison to the past DOA's. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.197.153.253 (talk) 22:21, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dead or Alive 4[edit]

The Bugs and Critism pages need to be edited, they are very outdated and I have even posted at the bottom of the critism page counteracting the "problems" that some biased user posted.

The Bugs should be deleted entirely, as an auto-update patch fixes that as well.

Various sections[edit]

I went ahead and removed various bits of nonsense, such as the critismim section and whatnot. I believe we all know why. -ZeroTalk 17:21, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Demo release[edit]

According to Next Generation, Tecmo will launch a demo release on Xbox Live in Japan. Yes, 6 months after releasing the game. See http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3484&Itemid=2 -- ReyBrujo 01:48, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Difficulty[edit]

I have added a paragraph about the difficulty of the game. I feel it is important as it has put off many new players to fighting games and was not mentioned in the article. Fans of DOA2/3 will not expect the difficulty change and mass market players don't have a chance of keeping up with it. Probably accounting for all the pre-owned copies of the game available in stores. Mr.bonus 14:24, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is it really all that difficult? It's no tougher than the first DOA, in my opinion. The difficulty of overcoming early-stage opponents is exaggerated.219.74.36.236 08:52, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This was in the main article[edit]

The big jump in difficulty could be due to Team Ninja wanting the single player mode to feel more like playing top rank players over Xbox Live.[citation needed]

I agree this may be the reason but can anyone find a source as it may be true but needs citing. Bobmills 16:10, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the whole "difficulty" section of the article makes it sound far too whiney. It's good to have maybe a brief mention, but a paragraph is annoying to read.Shane Strife 23:15, 15 October 2007

Review section[edit]

This article should have a section at the bottom to link to external reviews like many other related articles, especially since there is so little written about it in comparison with other games in the series. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.184.195.190 (talk) 07:20, 7 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

References for theses[edit]

I've deleted the paragraph below as i couldn't find adequate references for them. If you can find references stick them back on the page. I'm guessing a reference for "greatest installment in the series", and one for "hired professional DOA players".

"Since its release, Dead or Alive 4 has been given rave reviews by numerous gaming magazines and websites, with some touting it as the greatest installment in the series, thanks to a revamped fighting system, gorgeous graphics, and smooth and entertaining online play. Series creator Tomonobu Itagaki even hired professional DOA players to help smooth out the kinks in the fighting system." Alexdeangelis86 00:59, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Story[edit]

The story section needs to be added to. Alexdeangelis86 00:21, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reception[edit]

I'm not sure I catch the misspelling in the quote "really cool, interesting, and very unique [sic]". Last time I checked, we spell unique u-n-i-q-u-e. If it's some other word misspelled, then the [sic] should be moved to immediately after the error. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bradwilcox (talkcontribs) 17:02, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nicole-458[edit]

WikiProject Halo seems to have hijacked a DOA article and its redirects. Nicole (Dead or Alive) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) was redirected to Characters of Halo, where the info subsequently removed (probably because it's not a HALO character).

The other redirects include Nicole (DOA) and Nicole (Dead or Alive character)

Per discussion on my talk page, I have restored the article and placed merge template for the proper target. 65.94.252.195 (talk) 11:48, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

TopTen?[edit]

Hi Sonic100jam, I don't follow your revert ("The "TopTens.fun" is a publication site. It's not The Top Tens community site.") See WP:VG/RS, TopTens.fun isn't listed at all. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 18:07, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

TopTens.fun isn't a gaming publication, but it's a mixed variety publication that discusses various works of pop culture, entertainment, businesses and products, similar to "Complex" and "Virgin Media". On "The Top Tens.com" community site, anyone can create there own top ten list and publish it on the website.--Sonic100jam (talk) 18:35, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
