Death and state funeral of WellingtonDeath and state funeral of the Duke of Wellington – Proper styling of the individual. 2601:249:9301:D570:E893:471F:37FA:20FE (talk) 02:37, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Support as proposed - While "the Duke of Wellington" is less WP:PRECISE than "Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington", he is the primary topic for Duke of Wellington and the only of the Dukes to have a state funeral, it is more WP:CONCISE. Estar8806 (talk) 21:59, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. I see no need to add his name or ordinal. He's the only Duke of Wellington most people have heard of and the only one who had a state funeral. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:18, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support as proposed. The Goldilocks option, with neither too little nor too much detail; cf. the four articles with titles beginning "Equestrian statue of the Duke of Wellington". The first duke is the primary topic for "Duke of Wellington" and is easily identified in these contexts by his title alone, without the personal name or ordinal.
