Crassly commercial and promotional?

Eh, no. --PhilipO 20:33, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

29th July 2006 is listed as a date from which an article appeared in the paper regarding a possible sale. However as that date is currently in the future, it's incorrect and I shall remove it until either the correct date or new relevant information is available. G. 13:47, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Importance[edit]

No way is Debenhams Ireland "mid importance" on the IrelandProject scale! Dunno how this rating lasted 16 years. Sarah777 (talk) 16:32, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sarah777, I'd respectfully disagree there - this article covers *both* Roches and Debenhams, and Roches I would see as a clear Mid prio, given its role as a popular retail operation over decades. Debenhams inherited that, and achieved its own notability on top, with its end, and the legal and other points raised, giving an added push. The prio ratings are about impact over time, and focus needed, and I believe in more than basic prio for this case. SeoR (talk) 17:41, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Didn't actually read the article so didn't realise that! Didn't rate it blindly - just scanned it for quality and missed the Roches Stores connection. Sarah777 (talk) 22:12, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, and no worries - it's not very clear. If I had more spare time, I'd say that Roches deserves its own article, up to the end of the grocery operation, and then sale (noting that the family retained some of the properties, merely renting them to Debenhams), and then a short article on Debenhams not-so-long history and messy end - but for now I'll try to come back and bulk this one up a bit. On with the assessment show :-) SeoR (talk) 07:52, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
