Fair use rationale for Image:Deewar - A Wall.jpg[edit]

Note: as of this point in time, the following notice no longer applies as the fair use statement has been completed. Dbiel (Talk) 07:15, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Deewar - A Wall.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Duplicate pages[edit]

I reverted this page blanked by the creator of the page after it had been edited by others. After checking the user's history I discovered that a replacement page was created Deewar - A Wall I have posted a notice on the user's talk page. I do not know how to proceed from here. It would appear that Deewar (TV serial) is the better of the two titles. Being fairly new to Wikipedia myself, this is over my head so I am requesting help in terms of how to proceed from this point. Thank you Dbiel (Talk) 01:30, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You should discuss this on the talk page of the article in question, likely the newest one would be best. The editors must reach consensus among themselves. Then the remaining page can serve as a redirect. JodyB talk 02:02, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe I fail to express myself well, or maybe I just do not understand the proceedures. As far as which name to use, I do understand that is a local editor issue that needs to be discussed. The main issue, which only an admin can handle is the problem of blanking a page and then starting over on a new page rather than using the move command. The result of blanking is that all of the history is functionally deleted. There is nothing on the new page that points back to the fact that there was an original page. Now if this is considered accpetable, then I will drop the subject; but as I understand it, it is an unacceptable practice to using blanking and copy paste to change the name of an article, and that the problem when it does happen needs to be addressed. Am I wrong? Dbiel (Talk) 05:48, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A redirect has been created. JodyB talk 12:09, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Soap Opera[edit]

I noticed that the Category:Indian television soap operas has been added. Is Deewar a soap opera? If so maybe the first sentence should be changed to:

Deewar is an Indian television - soap opera about a guy named Purshottam, who is in jail.

Dbiel (Talk) 07:15, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that the category has been changed to drama, therefore the above suggestion is no longer valid. Dbiel (Talk) 04:44, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
