Some Proposed Changes[edit]

Information to be added or removed: Please add a section of notable people associated with the medical school: Notable People National Academy of Medicine Members

Seventeen members of the National Academy of Medicine: • Karen DeSalvo, M.D., MPH • George Georgiou, Ph.D. • Clay Johnston, M.D., Ph.D. • George Macones, M.D., MSCE • Mark McClellan, M.D., Ph.D. • Charles Nemeroff, M.D., Ph.D. • Nicholas Peppas, Sc.D. • William Sage, M.D., J.D. • Kenneth Shine, M.D. (professor emeritus) • William Tierney, M.D.

Explanation of issue: The first class graduated in 2020 so we do not have notable graduates but do have notable faculty and staff to recognize. As you pointed out, Dell is a very young medical school. It's a good thing that it commenced teaching recently – considering the pandemic, the nation needs more medical schools and doctors. But since the school is so young, it is hard to tell which faculty and students are notable. Perhaps it would be best to wait until, from a historical perspective, it becomes clear which faculty and alumni have become notable in connection with Dell Medical School. Done[edit]

Information to be added or removed: Change "medical district is being constructed in three phases" to "medical district is being constructed in four phases" Explanation of issue: Another phase of construction was added and was scheduled for 2020 completion.  Done Updated.--Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 08:04, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information to be added or removed: Change "The new medical campus will sit on existing University property at the southeastern corner of the central campus...teaching hospital that Seton Healthcare is building." to reflect that construction is completed on the Health Transformation Building, Health Learning Building, Health Discovery Building, and the Health Center Garage and these buildings have been open to the public since 2016. Dell Seton, the hospital is also completed and open.

A possible change could be: The new medical campus includes the Health Transformation Building, Health Learning Building, Health Discovery Building and Health Center Garage. They sit on existing University property at the southeastern corner of the central campus, adjacent to the UT School of Nursing and to the Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas—the new $295 million, 211-bed teaching hospital that Seton Healthcare built.[2][6]

Explanation of issue: Information is outdated and does not reflect the buildings currently on campus and open. Sounds alright. Haven't included primary sources as references. Westminster88 (talk) 12:19, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information to be added or removed: Can the image be updated to one of the buildings on campus, like the Health Learning Building? This would be a good image to use: https://mapwell.s3.amazonaws.com/1/account_photo/2017__01__27--Dell-Med-Health-Learning-Building-DSC_4300.jpg Explanation of issue: The building pictured is of the teaching hospital and not technically of the medical school. Information to be added or removed: Change the website to dellmed.utexas.edu Explanation of issue: The current website listed is an old URL that redirects to the current site References supporting change: n/a CR42633 (talk) 20:22, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done Updated. This is a factual non-controversial change which you can actually edit it directly yourself, COI or not. --Justanothersgwikieditor (talk)

Information to be added or removed: Change type from "public" to "public medical school" Explanation of issue: "Public" is vague and potentially confusing References supporting change: n/a CR42633 (talk) 20:22, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done Like the above edit, this is a factual, non-controversial change, as well as being fairly minor. It's acceptable for you to make changes like this, even with a COI. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 12:56, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information to be added or removed: Add # of postgraduates to the right graph. There are currently 340 postgrads at Dell Medical School Explanation of issue: While there are 200 undergraduate medical education students that number does not include graduate medical education students, like residents and fellows. Information to be added or removed: Add an affiliation section to the right side graph Affiliation UT Health Austin Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas Seton Medical Center Austin

Not done User:CR42633, it's difficult to tell how many organisations you wish to associate with the school, and what their separate names are. Please clearly format your request as a list:
  • Hospital A, relevant reference
  • Clinic B, reference
  • Charitable organisation C, reference

If a single reference includes more than one organisation, please be clear about which ones those are. Thank you. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 13:17, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
