demographics of africa

article is missing information on distribution and numbers of population by race (how many black/arab/white, percentage) I haven't found it on any other page so far as well (if there is such information on Wiki, where is it?) I suggest inclusion here

Sudan and other edits

You have reverted the article to an inaccurate state and every addition has been necessary, accurate and not "redudant". The article before my changes (laughingly!) did not include a section on west africa in the introduction. Also, it mischaracterized the makeup of north africa, as nilo-saharan speakers are a huge component of sudan. Also it did not clarify the role of Arabization in making North Africa distinct from the other regions of Africa. Your changes are unexplained and ill-advised. Please use the talk page for "Demographics of Africa" if necessary. Also, it claimed that west africa is mostly bantu speaking which anyone who knows about Africa knows is completely inaccurate. What you have done is re-introduce these errors:

-removing section on west africa -returning inaccurate statement that west africa is mostly bantu speaking -removed information of common arabization of west africa -masked the nilo-saharan background of sudan.

Why? How is any of this redundant?

Actually, per WP:BURDEN, the burden of proof is on the editor who adds the material. In this case, it was completely OR. It's also quite inaccurate in spots, as I stated. For example, Sudan does not entirely consist of people of Nilotic origin as you indicated. Bantu languages are indeed spoken in West Africa (where the Niger Congo languages in general dominate and likely originated), albeit by a minority. And North Africa was already distinct from much of Sub-Saharan Africa well prior to Arabization, so there's no need to place undue weight on that material. I've corrected the changes. In future, per WP:BRD, take whatever issues you may have to the discussion page for evaluation and consensus. Also, kindly do not again name take page headings after other users (it's a WP:Talk vio). One user keeps pushing his POV and with that is re-introducing numerous errors that were fixed previously back into the article. His claim is that the info is unsourced but almost all of the info is unsourced in the article so he is reintroducing unsourced incorrect information thereby replacing unsourced accurate information. Regards, Andajara120000 (talk) 07:11, 27 December 2013 (UTC) One example is the error that Luhya is a Nilo-Saharan language in his effort to push his POV he rolled back the article to a time when there were numerous errors in the article, including that. After I restored the article pointing out he is reintroducing the errors he stated that since the facts were unsourced that is a reason to revert every single change made. This is even though nearly every section of the languages in Africa article is unsourced because it is a summary of information on other pages. That is hardly a reason. After I pointed that out he rolled back the article a second time, again reintroducing the error that Luhya is a Nilo-Saharan language. Realizing his error (because I had explicitly pointed out that error) he changed Luhya to Niger-Congo. He failed to rectify however the deletion of the Zarma and Songhai people and the inaccurate population figures for most of the groups, including the Fula, Hausa, Kanuri, Chewa, Hutu etc. which were revised to reflect the numbers on the respective country's pages. What you need to do is go back step by step and determine what information is inaccurate because even though I did not include an edit summary, all the information I have included is accurate-like removing the error that Luhya is a Nilo-saharan language (which has been in error for months if not years), introducing the population figures for Zarma and Songhai in West Africa, updating the population figures for Hausa, Fula, Chewa, Luba, Luhya and others. All of these were accurate and you have not pointed out on inaccuracy in the current state of the article except your particular POV regarding the categorizing of different countries into the regions of Africa. Why don't you want to take the time to pinpoint what supposed errors I introduced versus the numerous glaring errors you have reintroduced (the Luhya as Nilo-Saharan is the most obvious one as explicitly reflected in the revision history), in addition to the extremely outdated population figures in the article. You made of lot of changes in the article and I don't agree with some of them. So there's no consensus on the change. You don't provide any source for your changes so I have the complete right to reverse your edits. As I said above, you may want to check List_of_regions_of_Africa for list of regions of Africa or provide reliable sources explaining the changes you made. I already made the change to the Luhya. I agree about including references to the Sara, Zande, Gbaya, Songhai and Zarma, but I don't agree with changing the regions of Africa without justification. You may want to refer to List_of_regions_of_Africa or find reliable sources (with proper WP:Weight) to justify the changes you made to article. Thank you and keep up the good work. I do not think you understand the proper function of "undo." You do not use "undo" to delete referenced material.I have now added multiple references for the change and references for the region Middle Africa. The UN is not the only source for regions, regions are not fixed. In any case my additions as to updated population figures for Songhai, Zarma, Hausa, Fula, Luhya, Gikuyu, Chewa, Sara, Yoruba, Igbo and others are now referenced with CIA population figures so do not delete them again. You had also deleted referenced information on the history of certain countries which I restored. Do not make a mass reversion again because you will now be reverting even more referenced material. If you want to make changes to what the article is now you will have to go step by step to rectify whatever issues you may have and not do a mass reversion again. And I don't think you understand Wikipedia at all. You do not need consensus for every change on an article or things will never get done. You simply need to reference your changes. I have added numerous references now to the population figures in the article. You have no right to make massive reversions again. You will have to go step by step. Stop trying to drown a fish. I agree or I'm neutral to most of your edits but I disagree about the redefinition of African regions that you seem to push on this wikipedia article as well as many others (including the middle Africa article). This is the point of contention here. The usual definition of African region are those regions: United_Nations_geoscheme. That is North Africa, Western Africa, Middle Africa, Eastern Africa and Southern Africa. In that definition, for example, Middle Africa doesn't include South Sudan as you try to push on wikipedia. It also include many other countries you don't include in the middle Africa. To redefine African regions in this wikipedia article or any other articles you must use reliable sources to make those changes, taking into account the weight of each sources (as already explained to you). In your edit, you use this link http://www.ascleiden.nl/?q=research/projects/connecting-times-duress-understanding-communication-and-conflict-middle-africas-mobile-margins, but this website, doesn't even agree with your redefinition of African region as South Sudan is not included in their middle Africa category. They list only: Chad, Central African Republic, Cameroon and eastern Nigeria. In this article, as well as other wikipedia articles, you include South Sudan (Dinka,etc) in your redefinition of the Southeast and Middle Africa category. User:Neptune's Trident Can you explain what the Gambian woman photo is illustrating in that section because none of the tribes in that country were discussed or mentioned there.
