It makes more sense to have a single article that can compare and contrast the demographics of the entire Minneapolis-St. Paul area. User:力 (power~enwiki, π, ν) 01:04, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose No, it does not make sense to merge the material about the demographics of the two cities into one article; they are separate cities. The discussion of demographics of the two cities from a comparative perspective belongs in the main entry about the Minneapolis/St. Paul (Twin Cities) metro area. It should be simple-enough to make a reference in each article about the demographics of the other city being listed under its own entry with a link to that entry provided for those who seek to compare, as well as a reference and a link to the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area entry.Genwicky (talk) 04:57, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I agree with above, these are the two largest cities of Minnesota and have completely different demographics. I find the Minneapolis–Saint Paul demographics section lacking but much can be improved and that is where the demographics of the entire metro area can be discussed. I honestly don't know if there is enough content for either of these articles to be separate and could honestly be merged with the respective city articles, especially given the outdated content. Outdated Page Information Demographics of Saint Paul, Minnesota[edit]

This page is very outdated and misrepresents the present demographic data about St. Paul. The page cites the data from the 2000 census to give the population, and it also refers to Census Bureau estimates from 2008. There is more recent data from the 2010 Census, as well as Census Bureau estimates from 2019. Shortly, there will be 2020 Census data available. Further, this entry uses more specific demographic data from a 2006-2008 American Community Survey, data that is 13 to 15 years old. The US Census Bureau has similar, current data that should be used. In addition, the state of Minnesota, the city of St. Paul, and the Metropolitan Council have much more recent and accurate data about the population and demographics of St. Paul that would be current and far better sources of data to include in this entry.
