Article name[edit]

The name East Midlands derby is closely associated to Nottingham Forest vs Derby County matches. But an article on LCFC.com also refers to Leicester vs Nottm Forest matches with the same name (last sentence, first paragraph). How should the wiki articles be seperated should an article be created for Leicester vs Forest? Wolcott (talk) 18:17, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think you would have to use a section of the article to state that the term can also be applied to other combinations of teams in the area, although Derby v Forest is clearly the primary rivalry[citation needed]. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 09:24, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Combining article[edit]

Is it a good idea to combine this page with Derby County F.C. - Leicester City F.C. rivalry and eicester City F.C. - Nottingham Forest F.C. rivalry. They're all East Midlands rivalries and could be segregated in to individual fixtures? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.144.218.234 (talk) 23:59, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think combining the article with the Lesta games is a good idea — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.26.132.110 (talk) 14:01, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Combine articles! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.144.18.77 (talk) 22:28, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Let's combine the articles! It makes sense — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.51.138.22 (talk) 19:33, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you look the media don't discriminate between the three fixtures. They refer to all as East Midlands derbies. Combining is logical. [1] [2] [3] [4] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.51.138.22 (talk) 23:00, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Name of article[edit]

Leicester-Derby and Leicester-Forest are nearly always referred to as East Midlands derbies too. This article title is inaccurate and should be merged just like The Devon derby with Exeter, Plymouth AND Torquay.

Also many fans view Leicester as equally big games... Just look on Twitter.

Definitely merge! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.157.160.169 (talk) 16:23, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Merge to be honest — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.101.229.134 (talk) 16:18, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Merge this article[edit]

The rivalries are all linked and just taking up space.

So much detail isn't needed for Derby-Forest.

Derby-Forest is NOT THE East Midlands Derby, it is AN East Midlands derby just like Derby-Leicester and Leicester-Forest. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.101.229.134 (talk) 16:22, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed - no need for so much detail on one rivalry that is not especially important to neutral fans. Neutrals don't discriminate between any of the three East Midlands derbies. It's time to merge the articles befitting with the standard set by the South London and Devon derby pages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrisrwhiting (talkcontribs) 18:02, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have honestly no opinion on this. I don't think there's any serious discussion here, because most of the comments agreeing on the merge from the past year are IPs, and coincidentally none of them signed their comments. For all we know it was all from the same person. Wolcott (talk) 03:20, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
