from the I'll Believe It When I See It File[edit]

The Amateur Radio DX community is abuzz with news that ONE dxpedition will be allowed to Desecheo sometime in November. Apparently USFWS has sent out an invitation to all those who expressed an interest recently to apply for the one-time opportunity. Thbusch (talk) 13:49, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it's true. The US Fish and Wildlife Service will be allowing a DXpedition to Desecheo in early 2009. The DX team has established a website at www.kp5.us. Desecheo is the 7th most wanted DX entity for hams, and it looks like we will finally get the chance to confirm it in our logs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.109.50.20 (talk) 18:31, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Quick Question[edit]

Someone I know has claimed he knows someone who has bought this island, of whom he is now "President". It sounds complete rubbish, and it proabably is, so I wondered if someone could confirm if this island really is available for purchasing.....doktorb wordsdeeds 16:47, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rubbish. The island is protected by the USFWS. Joelito (talk) 18:55, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
