was this a completed film?[edit]

It's widely considered that the second Assamese Film is Indramalati (1939) by Jyoti Prasad Agarwalla, the first being Joymoti (1935) by the same man. So, if this was completed, this should be the second Assamese film. However, I have not found any mention of this movie in any discussion of Assamese movies. I fleetingly remember from Phani Shrma's autobiography that this film was planned, but was never completed. However, I could not find the book to check my information.উদ্দীপতালুকদাৰ (talk) 19:49, 4 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I share your doubts about this version as it was not mentioned when the bengali version was recently donated by the Bangladesh Film Archive to NFAI [1]. In addition, it is very surprising to see Zubeida in the cast since she had stopped acting for 10 years when her first son Humayun was born in December 1936. I think this Assamese version may have been planned, but most probably not shot. MelAntipam (talk) 10:20, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Playback[edit]

Dr. Bhupen Hazarika first lent his voice in the film "Indramalati" at the age of 13 years; but in this article he is said to have done the playback. No reference has been provided for this. Gitartha.bordoloi (talk) 07:00, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
