Alternative Game[edit]

My family in Edinburgh has a very different different game, using a spinning top on a boxed in board- called "De'el among the Tailors", which I was told thirty years ago, meant "Devil Among The Tailors". There is a similar game in Osterley House, a National Trust property in west London with the name "Devil among the Tailors" IceDragon64 18:53, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not convinced on the name origins sections. De'il among the Tailors is also the name of a popular British fiddle tune which appeared in collections as early as 1800 (and an unrelated tune with the same name was published in 1773), according to Andrew Kunz's Fiddlers Companion website.
