Monarch butterfly migration site[edit]

Dilworth Minnesota and surrounding areas are part of the monarch butterflies migration. They can be seen from summer to early fall. However as of July 2022 the IUCN, or International Union For Conservation of Nature put them on their red list for endangered species. In 2022, during an aerial spray the city and surrounding areas used pyrethroid chemicals to kill mosquitos. Though theres no clear count, hundreds of dead monarch butterflies were found the next morning. In 2023, efforts of planting milkweed, an important plant to these butteries, can be seen all over town. However, the city denies and downplays the harm of the synthetic chemicals they use. Planting milkweed cannot truly be effective until the use of harmful chemicals is erradicated. Greebneanluvr69 (talk) 01:03, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
